Welcome to the
ROSA News & Information Files
To help you get to the information you need we've broken things down into three main categories. The links to these categories are at the left side of this page. Before you click on those links, please read the introductions below which explains what each category contains as well as hints for getting the most out of each.
- From The Top
- This section contains our Letters from the President, a periodic e-mail from ROSA President Ellen Burns to ROSA members. These e-mails usually contain time-sensitive information that is important for all ROSA members. But they also contain reports on the results of meetings and events, editorial comments and calls to action - all of which are important to potential as well as current ROSA members. That's why we've archived them here.
When you visit From the Top you are automatically sent to the most recent message. From there you can browse through the messages using the previous and next arrows at the top of each page. This will allow you to view all the messages in the archive. We've also included an index of the 10 most recent messages by date so you can jump directly to those messages. To view messages older than the ten most recent, remember to use the previous and next arrows at the top of each message.
- Issues and Answers
- ROSA writes a weekly column in the Ridgefield Press which addresses specific issues regarding the preservation of the Bennett's Pond property. This section contains the columns which have appeared in previous editions of the Ridgefield Press, and will be updated periodically.
When you click on the Issues and Answers link you'll be sent to the intro page of this section. An index of available articles is available so you can go directly to any story.
- Petition Drive
- On October 5, 2000, The Ridgefield Open Space Association launched a petition drive to secure the Bennett's Pond property for Ridgefield's future. With the help of ROSA's attorneys and the review and approval of the Ridgefield Town Counsel, we have prepared two petitions - one to acquire the northern parcel (approximately 458 acres) as open space, and one to acquire the southern parcel (approximately 155 acres) for open space, recreational or other municipal purpose.
When you click on the Petition Drive link you'll be sent to the intro page for this section, describing the goals of the petition drive and its process. An index of related information is available so you can go directly to any item.
- Other Info
- Periodically, other information that we feel is important to ROSA members and those interested in our efforts comes our way. This may be in the form of a letter from one of our members, some information from one of the other sections of our sites that really needs a place to stand on its own, or even a mention of our organization and our efforts in a local paper.
This section isn't very large yet, we've just started collecting items for it. So when you click on the Other Info link you'll be sent to the most recent addition to our collection of other information. You'll also be provided with an index of the other items stored in this section so you can jump directly to them if you wish.
- Newsletters
- ROSA has an official newsletter and we've placed it online for you. We've saved the newsletters two different ways for your convenience. There is an online version which is laid out just like the rest of our site, so you'll feel right at home. There is also an Adobe Acrobat PDF version of each newsletter which you can download. The PDF version maintains the multi-column and multi-page format of the original and can be viewed on your computer or printed
When you click on the Newsletters link you'll be sent to the most recent edition of our newsletter. An index of available newsletters is available so you can go directly to any edition. At the top of each newsletter is a link to the Acrobat PDF version of that edition
You'll need the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to be able to use the Acrobat PDF versions of the newsletter. If you don't yet have the Adobe Acrobat Reader just click on this picture and follow the instruction to download and install your free copy.
