Please plan to attend and speak in favor of the acquisition of the Bennett's Pond property!

This is a land acquisition public hearing to discuss the Selectmen's plan for acquiring the 613-acre Bennett's Pond property by negotiated purchase or eminent domain. The northern parcel (458 acres) would be acquired for open space, recreation and other municipal purposes, and the southern parcel (155 acres) for "corporate or municipal purposes." The Selectmen have created an Economic Development Commission which will develop a plan for use of the southern parcel.

Please attend on Wednesday night to support the town's abilility to determine the future of this important land - it is imperative that we not be outnumbered by those who oppose the Selectmen's plan!
